How we work
Farnham & Company is a machinery broker in the truest sense — we exist at the intersection of a seller who needs a result and a buyer who needs a machine, and we earn our place there by knowing the equipment better than anyone else in the room. That knowledge shapes every service we offer, beginning with valuations. Whether the figure is needed for a lender, an estate, a partnership dispute, or simply a strategic decision about what to do next, we document fair market value and orderly liquidation estimates that hold up under scrutiny. A number with a name and a methodology behind it is worth considerably more than one produced to satisfy a conversation. From valuation, the path forward depends on what the seller actually needs. Outright purchase is the fastest route — Farnham & Company takes a direct position on equipment when the asset, the condition, and the market align, and a seller who wants certainty over upside gets a clean close with no contingencies trailing behind it. When the ceiling matters more than the calendar, we structure and manage consignment arrangements, placing Swiss turning centers, die cast lines, rubber and silicone presses, CNC machining centers, grinding equipment, blow mold machinery, injection molding assets, extrusion and thermoform lines, rotational mold equipment, stamping presses, EDM machinery, fabrication assets, tool and die inventory, mold packages, and automation and auxiliary systems with buyers across our North American network and through our global buyer reach. Consignment under a broker who knows the category means the asset is priced correctly from day one and placed with buyers who can actually use it — not listed and forgotten. Auctions and structured liquidations belong in the toolkit when a defined endpoint serves the stakeholder better than an open-ended sale process — plant closures, bankruptcy proceedings, and estate settlements all produce situations where a managed auction delivers both speed and defensible recovery. We organize and oversee these events rather than hand them off, because the broker's credibility is on the floor alongside the equipment. On the acquisition side, Farnham & Company sources specific equipment on behalf of manufacturers who need the right machine rather than the first available one. Spec-driven searches, market canvassing, and direct negotiation — all conducted by people who can evaluate what they find. When a transaction extends to the enterprise itself, we manage complete business exits and turnkey facility sales. We handle the coordination of contracts, real estate, and M&E as one unified transaction — a single broker accountable for every moving part rather than three separate advisors pulling toward different outcomes.
